The
present-day Sanhedrin Court decided Tuesday to purchase a herd of

ANALYSIS: Experts
sceptical over outcome of Jordan's king US trip
Monsters & Critics
2007/2/28
An imminent trip to the United States by Jordan's King Abdullah
II provides a 'historic' opportunity to revive the Middle East peace
process, prominent analysts and politicians said Wednesday.
However, they told Deutsche Presse-Agentur dpa that
judging by previous experience there are 'no guarantees' that
the US administration will respond to the monarch's warning against
the risks inherent in a failure to forge an early peace agreement
between Israel and the Palestinians.
'I think it is a
historic trip by all standards during which the king stands a very
good chance of alerting both the US public and the administration to
the seriousness of a failure to ensure a resumption of the peace
talks,' said Mohammad Masri from
the state-run Strategic Studies Centre of the University of Jordan.
'But
responding to the monarch's efforts is something else. We don't have
guarantees that this will happen,'
he added. ...

Iran
Establishes Military Liaison With Turkey
News Blaze.com 2007/2/28
AKI reports that the retired Iranian General Alireza Asqhari has been
missing since checking into the Hotel Ghilan in Istanbul. He is a
former general of the Iran Revolutionary Guards (Pasdaran) and was
Deputy Defense Minister under President Mohammad Khatami, 1997-2005.
...it is clear that since he arrived in Istanbul via Damascus he must
have had a very important appointment." I suspect
Asqhari's appointment was with the highest level of Turkey's military
- industrial establishment, Turkey's command level. Tehran is making a
diplomatic effort to find him is just a cover for his real
mission-liaison officer between Iran and Turkey's military. His
meeting in Damascus was no doubt the same. This is similar to the
Reuters announcement in late 2000's that Iran-Turkey were comparing
intelligence information but they would not say about where. In
February 2001 the fighting began in Macedonia started by Albanians,
who are mostly Islamic. The fighting was designed to lure
NATO-Brussels deeper into the Balkans in order to take advantage of
the disastrous mistake the West made when it encouraged and recognized
the divided Yugoslavia as six new independent states in constant war,
conflict or near conflict with each other. Brussels, eagerly
committing NATO forces to this theatre, has put them completely out of
position, less effective in the Mediterranean and non-existent on the
deciding front, the Caucasus - Caspian region. General
Asqhari's departure coincides with Pakistan President General Pervez
Musharraf's recent nine-nation tour of Islamic capitals and when he
visited Tehran, Feb. 5, he presented Iran's government with his
"Action Plan"- offensive warfare against India. ...
Is Islamofascism a Legitimate Threat to
Liberty?
The
Liberty Papers 2007/2/28
In my
recent post about Michael Charles Smith, I received a response from a
reader by the name of Carl Deen regarding my support for the war
against terror Islamofascism (Not the war on terror. Terrorism is the
method the Islamofascist uses to accomplish his political-religious
goals). I think his challenge is worth a post of
its own so rather than responding in the original post, I have decided
to answer him here. ...So
yes Mr. Deen, I do believe
that America was right to go into Iraq based on the intelligence
available at the time and no I do not think our troops should stay
there forever. Iraq is now a central front in a much larger war
against Islamofascisim; a war which will continue as long as there are
Islamofascists who intend to destroy our country and our way of life.
Extremist rabbis call for return of animal
sacrifice
CNN
2007/2/28
A fringe
group of extremist rabbis wants to resume the biblical practice of
animal sacrifice at an explosive religious site in Jerusalem,
members said Wednesday. ...a group, called the "Re-established
Sanhedrin" after the Temple-era religious high court, has decided to
buy some sheep and try to find one that is ritually perfect for
sacrifice, with an eye toward resuming the practice at the Jerusalem
site, known to Jews as the Temple Mount. ..."We
want to do the sacrifice,
but we have political problems," Stein said.
"We hope there will
come a time when the government will agree. We will push for that to
happen."
Other rabbis point out that ritual animal sacrifice has been
banned since the destruction of the Second Temple in A.D. 70.
"Around that time, animal sacrifice, as a mode of religious worship,
stopped," said Rabbi Doniel Hartman of the Shalom Hartman Institute in
Jerusalem. "Moving back in that direction is not progress."
? Daniel 9:27 And he
shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the
midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to
cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make
it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be
poured upon the desolate.
We know from the the scripture that they will
at least eventually start this sacrificing. However, we do not
know how long it goes on before it is halted by the 'Little Horn'
character turned antichrist.

Israeli Official: "Syria, Hizbullah Will Attack if Iran is Hit"
Arutz Sheva

Israeli security officials said if any war breaks out involving Iran,
they expect Syria, Hizbullah and terrorist groups in Judea, Samaria
and Gaza to join the fray and attack Israel. This assumption is echoed
by terrorist leaders from several groups. ...In addition to
longer-range Scuds, Syria is in possession of shorter-range missiles
such as 220mm and 305mm rockets, some of which have been passed on to
Hizbullah. Terrorist leaders are saying openly that an
attack on Iran will lead to a coordinated counterattack on Israel and
US interests. A senior leader of the Islamic Jihad group says that
during any attack on Iran, his organization has been directed by Iran
to "wreak havoc" on Israel with suicide bombings, rocket attacks and

Secular Scholars Back Christian 'Jesus Tomb' Arguments

Prominent non-Christian experts, using many of the same arguments as
Christian scholars, have dismissed recent claims of the discovery of
Jesus’ family tomb as a publicity stunt without scientific backing.
...A retired archaeology professor at the University of Arizona has
also emphasized the commonness of the names found on the ossuaries as
reason not to take the purported new discovery serious.

archaeologists, and none of us thought it was much of a story,” said
William G. Dever to The Washington Post, “and none of us thought it

added, “and it will upset millions of innocent people because

An explanation as to why Jimmy Carter has become so sharply critical
of Israel came to light this week when The Jewish Week discovered
the former president has become a secret leader of a small but
vocal anti-Zionist group, based in the Mea Shearim section of
Jerusalem. Documents reveal that the one-term president
had his name legally changed last year to Jimmy Nuterei Carter, and he
has advised the group, the Nuterei Karta, to protest against a modern
Jewish state in the Biblical land of Israel.
“My views and theirs are very similar,” Carter told The
Jewish Week. “As I have written and preached, only God can rule
in the land of Israel. And when I learned that these gentlemen feel
the same, I agreed to write the book,” he said, referring to
his controversial best-seller: “Israel Is An Obnoxious Apartheid

U.S. Plans a
Meeting with Iran and Syria
The
Washington Post 2007/2/25
The Bush administration finally appears ready to meet with
official representatives of Iran and Syria -- as part of a planned
regional conference in Baghdad to discuss ways to stabilize Iraq.
Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari proposed the regional conference
recently. What has so far escaped public attention is in addition to
Iraq’s neighbors, the meeting is expected to include representatives
of the five permanent members of the U.N. Security Council -- Britain,
France, Russia, China and the United States. The meeting is
likely to take place during the next few weeks. ...
A solution to save
the region
MENAfn
2007/2/25
...A report carried by Israeli newspaper Haaretz on Thursday should be
seen against the backdrop of US moves to strike at Iran, since it
seems to be designed to influence world public opinion, to convince it
that Syria is on a war path and Israel would have to defend itself by
preemptive action. If true, the reported Syrian
build-up could be a message to Israel, which is itching to unleash its
air power against Iran under the pretext the
latter is hard at work on
its nuclear programme. If untrue, it is definitely part of Israel's
preparations to launch military action against Syria.
Many other
elements are thrown into the equation, with Haaretz reporting that
Syria is on an "unprecedented" drive to acquire sophisticated weapons
and Damascus planning to use Lebanon's Hizbollah for armed action
against Israel. ...The Syrians could make any Israeli military
action against it very costly in terms of casualties and damage; it is
no secret that Syria has in its possession missiles and rockets that
could carry chemical warheads and hit all major Israeli population
centres. Against this background, any Israeli move
against Syria under the pretext that the Syrians are preparing for war
could prove to be a major blunder. Surely the Israelis are aware of
it, and that seems to be the best deterrent. In the
meantime, the US is steadily moving towards military action
against Iran ...It is an issue that should preoccupy the Arab minds
ahead of the summit of Arab leaders next month.
The Arabs have to come up
with a solution that would avert another war.
It is not an easy task, but it has to be undertaken since a US-Iran
military conflagration would twist beyond recognition the shape of the
region as we know it today.
This all the more appears
that the Arabs must come together as a sort of 'United States of
Arabia' to avert the current politically and militarily 'engineered'
scenario. The results which will most likely be the political
entity that the beast from the bottom of the pit utilizes to fulfill
its evil plan as foretold in the books of Daniel and Revelation.
Israeli troops raid
largest West Bank city
StarTribune.com 2007/2/25
NABLUS, West Bank — Dozens of Israeli jeeps and armored vehicles
poured into Nablus overnight Sunday, placing large areas of the city
under curfew and conducting house-to-house arrest raids in one of the
largest West Bank military operations in months. The
army also took over local television and radio stations, ordering
people to remain indoors and warning residents that the clampdown
would remain in effect for several days, Palestinian residents said.
Two soldiers and several Palestinians were lightly wounded in clashes,
officials said. An Israeli military spokesman said
the operation was aimed at countering "terrorist threats" in Nablus.
The raid came a day after Israeli troops discovered an explosives
laboratory in the city. Nablus, the West Bank's largest city and
commercial center, is known as a stronghold of Palestinian militants.

King Abdullah II
of Jordan to Address Joint Meeting of Congress
EarthTimes.org
2007/2/24
...King Abdullah is scheduled to address a joint meeting of the
U.S. Congress on March 7, 2007, to urge more American engagement in
the Middle East peace process. According to an
informed source at the Royal Hashemite Court, the address to
Congress is a unique opportunity to articulate the Arab states' vision
of comprehensive regional peace based on the 2002 Arab Peace
Initiative. The Palestinian-Israeli conflict will be a key focus of
the King's address, the source said, because it remains the core
conflict in the region, and a solution to that conflict would
facilitate the resolution of other regional challenges.
...The King will be the first head of state to address a joint
meeting of this Congress, now controlled by Democrats, and the first
Congress to have a woman as speaker of the House and to include a
Muslim-American member. ...King Abdullah will also meet with
American Arab, Muslim and Jewish leaders to discuss the role that
their communities can play in Middle East peace and in advancing
international understanding. ...The King's meetings are one
component of Arab diplomacy intended to help project the Arab position
on regional peace in world capitals and build momentum for the
resumption of Palestinian-Israeli peace talks and to maintain
international support for Iraq's unity, security, stability and
reconstruction.
